About Us
Lit Wine & Books is a brand new wine bar and romantasy bookshop in downtown Collingwood. We are a small business with a strong vision and purpose, that’s been built with intention, creativity, and exceptional experience at every touchpoint. As a new business, every team member plays a meaningful role in shaping our culture, our service style, and the community we’re building.

The Role
We’re looking for a part-time bartender with a passion for wine and creating exceptional experiences. You’ll be behind the bar pouring wine and other beverages, recommending bottles, chatting with customers, and ensuring everyone feels welcome. We’re looking for someone who can operate with high trust, integrity, and reliability.

Your Responsibilities 

  • Serve wine, beverages, and light snacks with professionalism and warmth

  • Create a welcoming, swoon-worthy experience 

  • Offer thoughtful wine recommendations 

  • Maintain a beautifully clean and organized bar 

  • Handle transactions accurately and responsibly

  • Support events, tastings, and special experiences (as needed)

  • Follow all responsible alcohol service guidelines

  • Complete opening/closing operational tasks

  • Support retail staff with shop operations as needed


What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 2+  years bartending experience 

  • A genuine passion for wine; formal knowledge is a plus, but curiosity is key

  • A love for books

  • Exceptional customer service skills — warm, intuitive, and attentive

  • Flexible and detail-oriented

  • A team player who brings positive energy and initiative

  • Smart Serve certified

Bonus Points If You…

  • Love hosting, storytelling, or creating experiences

  • Get excited about themed events, pairings, and community-building

  • Have completed the food handling certification course

Availability

  • Part-time hours (up to 25 hours per week), including evenings, weekends and some holidays
